Mars Local Line

In 2022 we made a pact. After eight years of not seeing each other in person, my bestie Barbara and I committed to an annual girl’s trip. Now that I am an Astrocartographer, we can add another magical layer to our adventures.

This year, we were slated to check one off my bucket list. For years I’d been wanting to visit Asheville, NC. Unfortunately, two weeks before our trip, Helene had different plans. Witnessing the devastation on the news was heartbreaking. Once the Governor released a statement, “Do not come here,” we began to pivot. Donate to hurricane relief here.

Our focus shifted west. I was flying into Nashville from Philly so we had options. So I turned to our charts and where our planetary lines lead us. Astrocartography is your natal chart in map form. It shows all of your relocated charts at once as you slide from city to city. That’s when I found the perfect spot.

Hot Springs, AR showed some fantastic lines for Barbara, and my local Mars line ran right through the city. Here is the energy you can expect when visiting a Mars local line.

Time to embrace adventure sports. In our case, we were hitting the trails. However, in most cases, you would be wise to think twice before moving closer to the planet of conflict and strife. Luckily, this was just a visit and not a move. On this line, you may find yourself taking risks you might not normally consider, so be aware of accidents. You may also be short-tempered or quick to enter into unwise battles, so channel this into something productive or active.

Local lines don’t have as great an orb as planetary lines or even parans (these are latitude lines created by the intersection of two planetary lines). So I knew this would be a perfect chance to test the energies of my Mars local line. As for Barbara, she had a Sun/Jupiter paran 16 miles from town and a Sun/MC planetary line 60 miles away. These lines were setting her up for "loving life" vibes!

On a Sun/MC planetary line, the energies are prime for making connections, especially in regard to your life's ambition. You have the ability to really shine in the world. The energy of a Sun/Jupiter paran supports feeling optimistic and enthusiastic about life. You'll express yourself in larger-than-life ways. You have a zest for life and a yearning to be recognized for your efforts. Success and good fortune are likely to come your way under this combination, both through your own efforts and the benevolence of other people.

Some astrologers might think me crazy to visit a Mars line, but all planets have good and challenging energies. (I took on that Mars line like I wrestled that alligator!) I was determined to tap into the activating energy of Mars. Hiking - check! Productivity time for my Astro-studies and writing - check! Plus, it was enlightening seeing Barbara’s lines in action! People would come up and talk to her as if they knew her. We were so lucky with plans falling into place.

We always visit bookstores on our trips. Paper Heart Bookstore was so cute, and the employee recommended the brewery next door. We went for some tasters but weren’t sure what to do for dinner. Well, it happened to be the first day they were serving food. Fancy grilled cheeses for the win! As we enjoyed our dinner, a craft fair began setting up in the square next to the brewery. The perfect spot for unique souvenirs. As I said, things were just easily falling into place.

I do feel like I had to remind myself to relax at times. I didn’t have to be productive in every down moment! Knowing these energies would be prominent ahead of time made it so much easier to relax.

Barbara is a very talented author, teacher, and photographer. After I posted this blog, she called to tell me one of the photos she took on our. trip was featured on a permanent photography website! Just more evidence of that Sun/MC in action!
