Mercury in Astrocartography
Astrocartography (or locational astrology) is a magical tool you can use to inform your travels. It all starts with your personal natal chart. So, yes, it's unique to you! Because of this, there are underlying things to consider, such as the condition and house placement of your Mercury, to name a couple. However, I wanted to chat about the general meanings of some lines you can visit to really unlock that Mercury magic.

Planetary Line - this is when a planet makes an aspect to an angle in your chart.
Angle - these are shifting points in your chart depending on where you are in the world. For planetary lines, think of each of these four angles as representing the direction the energy of a planet is taking.
THE ANGLES
Ascendent is you as an individual.
Descendent is other people.
MC or Midheaven is your career and legacy.
IC is your private and home life.
Parans - this is a latitude line of energy that wraps around the earth when two planets' paths intersect. So this line takes on the energy of both planets with no regard to the aspects within your natal chart.
Why would I want to tap into Mercury's energy?
With Mercury ruling communication, travel, and technology, there are plenty of reasons to explore this energy. Are you an author finishing a book, writing a speech for your brother's wedding, or developing a new hybrid engine for cars? Then, Mercury is your friend.
This is where the combinations of planets and angles come into play, allowing you to really hone in on the energy you're looking for. If you had a session with me and wanted to finish your autobiography, we would look at options within orb of your Mercury/Ascendent line. Mercury (writing) and Ascendent (the self).
If you were developing a website for your technology business and wanted to be inspired, we could find a place near your Mercury/MC planetary line that might also be near your Uranus/Venus paran. Uranus rules the internet, and Venus is all about beauty and inspiration.
Now, not everyone has the same combination of parans. It all comes down to your personal chart, but the stories are there to unfold for you when you visit these places.
The great thing about learning this in a session is that you can use Remote Activation to tap into the energy. For example, if I were building a website for my tech business and felt stuck, I could listen to Bulgarian music or watch travel vlogs about Bourgas to connect with that energy.
If you had goals that weren't so specific, you can still use the magic of Astrocartography. Even if you simply aim to relax and enjoy your surroundings, using Astrocartography to discover your next favorite vacation spot could save you a lot of time with trial and error.
