Mercury in Mythology
Mercury is the Roman god of commerce, communication, travelers, thieves, and luck. He is the messenger of the gods, known for his speed and cunning. Mercury is often depicted with winged sandals and a winged helmet, carrying a caduceus (a staff with two snakes).
Mercury is the Roman counterpart of the Greek god Hermes. Like Hermes, he guided souls to the underworld and acted as a link between gods and humans. He was clever, a trickster, and the protector of merchants and messengers.
In short, Mercury is a swift, witty god of trade and communication, always on the move between worlds.

Trickster - I imagine Mercury stepping into this role when he goes retrograde.
Mercury is in each Zodiac sign for around 2 - 3 weeks. Retrograde will affect this time frame and could cause Mercury to remain in a sign for up to 10 weeks! Retrograde is the term used when the planet appears to move backward from our point of view here on Earth. We will talk more in depth about this "dreaded" phenomenon in the next blog.
